This month, Women Deliver conference was held in Kuala Lumpur, where attendees could discuss on how new media could support women’s health and empowerment.
It is during this conference that the project “+SocialGood” was launched, a network connecting global communities for social change.
This project was born thanks to Mashable, one of the first platform to raise awareness on Social Good matters, through their Social Good category on their website, and through the Social Good Summit, which first edition was hosted in 2012, and an upcoming edition expected next september. Partnering with the U.N. Foundation, the 92Y, the UNDP, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Case Foundation, came along the +SocialGood project, a place where innovators can gather around a shared vision : “The power of technology and new media to make the world a better place”.
You can join this journey by registering on the +SocialGood website, and start connecting with social entrepreneurs, innovators and many other people working on bridging technology and social change.
As the Social Good community is not restricted to online connections, you can also learn about the major events in Social Good, but also be part of the adventure by hosting local meet-ups.
You can also follow the preparations of the next Social Good Summit, and even get involved if you have some experiences in Social Good to share.
For those who are not familiar yet with Social Good and also want to discover what Social Good Summit is about, here is the video presentation of the 2012 edition :
