Ten days ago, we released a mobile review about Huawei Ascend P6 on the day it was officially presented in London.
Following this presentation in UK, and the one Singapore, Chinese mobile builder Huawei announced the launch of its new flagship product onto Cambodian market in the middle of July this year.
Huawei seems to have high expectations for Ascend P6 in Cambodia, the brand’s representatives expressed indeed their optimism about Cambodian market. Not very well-known yet amongst Cambodian population, Huawei wishes to improve the brand’s recognition by giving special and unique features. The phone will be available for an average price of $450 from mid-July this year. This range of price would position the Chinese firm ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note N5100 (around $460) and the Iphone 5 (around $770).
However, according to some market experts, local skepticism towards Chinese brands and high prices would highly threaten Huawei Ascend P6 perspectives expand on the local market. Cambodian people could be reluctant to engage, due to a lack of confidence in the product’s reliability. As a result, some might rather go through with Samsung or Apple, two trusted brands, already well implanted in Cambodia.
Nevertheless, Huawei appears to be clearly engaged in a Samsung and Apple beating strategy when it comes to cambodian market. By offering “the world’s thinnest smartphone“, Chinese mobile builder makes a smart move in terms of innovation, a tricky area in the mobile industry. The upcoming success of Huawei Ascend P6 in Cambodia will be crucial to determine whether the brand can expect to have a bright future or not in Cambodia.
