Mark your calendars on 1st November 2014 for Software Freedom Day (SFD)! If you love and appreciate Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), this one’s for you. It will be held from 1:30PM to 5:30PM at the National Institute of Posts, Telecoms and ICT (NIPTICT).
SFD is an annual global event coordinated by the Software Freedom International, and implemented across the word by volunteer teams. Its aim is to educate communities on the benefits of using FOSS in many various sectors – education, government, business and more!
Celebrate software freedom and all those that have contributed to FOSS at the event, and learn from the various speakers present. The event will see Dr. Sopheap Seng, President of NIPTICT, Jack from CoLAB, Arky from Mozilla and many more. They will be speaking about Firefox OS, wordpress, open hardware (3D Printing) and free software for e-commerce and servers.
In this participatory, transparent and sustainable digital world, it certainly is important to let more people know about FOSS and adopt it as well.
