Coming May 27 to May 29, Startup Weekend is launching a women’s edition, the first of its kind in Cambodia. Powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, Startup Weekend Women’s Edition aims to encourage and inspire women in the startup scene. It is also looking to connect women to the resources and mentors in Startup Weekend’s community.
During the event, participants will conduct a one-minute pitch on a product or service and form teams to bring their ideas to life. Attendees will be given the opportunity to be mentored by industry professionals, as each team will receive guidance and advice from these mentors.
Mary Lüthy-Hui, Interim Managing Director at Web Essentials, is one of the mentors that will be present at Startup Weekend. She has over eight years of experience in financial analysis and business development.
The mentors also include Nataly Rodionova, Managing Director of IT Academy STEP. Nataly has over a decade’s worth of experience in fields such as PR, brand management and marketing communication. She is also well versed in strategy planning and executing campaigns to stand out in the market.
The final mentor, Melissa Garcia, is the Head of the Offline Marketing Department at ABA Bank. Having won awards for her campaign “Heritage Friendly Tourism Campaign” in 2007, Melissa has over a decade of combined experience in marketing communications, brand management and systems engineering.
Startup Weekend Women’s Edition will be held at Emerald Hub. While the event is not exclusively for women, there are a limited amount of seats for men.
