Technology and Future Development Workshop in Cambodia – iOS Application Development

Last month, the National Institute of Posts, Telecommunications and ICT (NIPTICT) announced a series of monthly Technology and Future Development workshops. Those who attended the first edition immersed themselves in the world of android application development.

If you missed that workshop, fret not! In the upcoming month, an iOS application development workshop will take place at the NIPTICT satellite building from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on the 4th of June.

In this second edition, guest speaker Mr Phan Chanraksmey will be leading the workshop. Mr Phan is an iOs developer at CamMob, a Cambodian startup that specializes in the development of mobile applications and websites.

As most of you might already know, iOS is also famously known as Apple’s mobile operating system. The iOS helps to run Apple’s iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Currently, there are over 900,000 apps that are downloadable in Apple’s App Store, making it the most popular app store compared to any other mobile devices’.

With such a huge market for its consumers, Apple constantly makes updates to ensure its operating system remains smooth. The recently released iOS 8 contains over 4000 new application programme interfaces (APIs)! But why is this a big deal? Well, APIs allow you to put more features and capabilities into your apps. What this also means is that you will be able to lengthen the reach of your app’s content as well as functionality.

Combine of all this together with ambitious new technologies in game development, and you will be able to come up with games that are even more incredible, responsive, and immersive for the ultimate gaming experience. How exciting!

Other than these monthly workshops, NIPTICT is also organizing the Cambodia ICT Award! Application dates have been extended to the 5th of June, so it’s still not too late to apply! Find out more about CICTA here.
