The first ever edition of Startup Weekend in Siem Reap was held at the 1961 Coworking and Art Space from the 29th to 31st May this year. After organising several successful events in the heart of the Kingdom, Phnom Penh, the local Startup Weekend team decided to let the people of Siem Reap jump on the bandwagon by bringing Startup Weekend to their doorsteps.
When it comes to embracing the tech startup culture, the e27 team behind last month’s Echelon Asia Summit 2015 showcased not only an assembly of giant resources, but also the determined churn of passion. The conference, which embodied “Tomorrow’s Tech, Today”, took place on 23 and 24 June 2015 at the Singapore Expo. It saw more than 2,500 delegates, 500 startups, and 70 speakers bouncing ideas, pitches, and dreams around the hall.
The grand finale and award ceremony of the Cambodia ICT Awards was held at the Hotel Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra on the 25th of June this year.
Tech in Asia recently obtained funding of up to US$4 million from a list of high profile investors, including current and existing ones. The move, backed by the SB ISAT Fund (funded by Softbank and Indosat), is said to help boost connectivity in the Asian tech ecosystem.
