Spikes Asia 2015: The Asia Pacific Festival of Creativity

Spikes Asia, the Asia Pacific Festival of Creativity, is back for another round of its coveted event that celebrates and inspires creativity in advertising. Following the success of the Spikes Awards, which has been ongoing for 28 years, the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity has only been made possible through the joint efforts of several other notable events, including the Lions Festival, Dubai Lynx, AMES, and many more.

Set to be held from the 9th to 11th September this year at Suntec City in Singapore, the three-day festival would aid the emerging Asia Pacific creative and advertising industry in creating networks and sharing ideas, gathering some of the brightest creative thinkers from all over the region and globe.

Last year, over 1,800 delegates attended the event, which comprised of seminars, tech talks, forums, exhibitions, evening networking events, and the Spikes Asia Awards Show. Check out our take of what went down on each day of the festival last year here!

With so many things happening at the festival, once again, we’ve drawn a list of all the highlights that you shouldn’t miss there!

Spikes Seminars, TechTalks, and Forums (9 – 11 September)

Over the 3 days, the festival will see 30 seminars, 12 forums, 7 TechTalks, 3 screenings, and 2 masterclasses from more than 60 distinguished speakers that come from both regional and international backgrounds in the creative industry. This includes Nils Anderson, president of advertising firm TBWA\ Greater China, Reed Collins, Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy and Mather Group Hong Kong, Mike Glaser, Senior Marketing Manager of Google, and many more. Spikes Asia shortlisted exhibitions and screenings (9 – 11 September)

Don’t miss out on some of Asia’s most exciting creative communications work that will be on display at the Festival! Immediately after the juries have shortlisted the works based on the different categories that are in the 2015 Spikes Asia Awards, they will then be put up and featured at the festival. On the 9th September, shortlisted categories that will be released include Film, Film Craft, Radio, Design, Digital, Media, Mobile, Outdoor, Print, Print & Poster Craft, Promo & Activation, PR, Direct, Healthcare, and Branded Content & Entertainment.

The shortlisted works from the Integrated, Creative Effectiveness, Innovation categories will be released the day after.

Spikes Nights (9 – 11 September)

Let your hair loose during the evenings for the celebration will not be over yet! Each evening, connect over drinks and get inspired by different attendees while celebrating outstanding creativity from the Asia Pacific region! Spikes Happy Hour will take place over the whole 3 days at the Spikes Asia Bar Festival Hall, while J Walter Thomson from Asia Pacific McCann will be hosting a Networking After Dark event. An Official After Party will be held on the 11th September from 11pm till late at the Clifford Pier located on 80 Collyer Quay, Singapore 049326. Spikes Asia Award Ceremony (11 September)

Wrap up with a blast on the most awaited day of the festival with the Spikes Asia Award Ceremony! With some of the most prestigious accolades that will be awarded to those who have created excellent works in creative communications, this is one segment that is definitely not to be missed! Winners will be announced live at the grand ballroom at the 5-star Ritz Carlton Hotel from 7pm to 10pm. Book your passes here now!
