Smart Axiata has retained its position as the top Mobile Service Provider in Cambodia for the third year running, according to market research firm Frost & Sullivan, due to what they felt was Smart’s stellar financial performance, advanced network capabilities, innovative lifestyle and entertainment offerings as well as market data leadership.
Smart has continued to roll out 4G and 4.5G technology, and this has helped to boost Cambodia’s digital landscape; faster and more reliable mobile data across the country allows more people to explore STEM subjects, digital innovation, and enjoy themselves.
Any many Geeks readers will know, Smart is very active in Cambodia’s startup sector, with their popular SmartStart and SmartSpark programmes run with Impact Hub Phnom Penh greatly supporting the ideation and growth of fantastic digital solutions to problems facing Cambodians.
The company was also given the Gold Award for Tax Compliance by Cambodia’s General Department of Taxation for meeting its tax obligations under Cambodian law, the first telco to be recognised for doing so.
All of this support for Cambodia’s public and private sectors has been recognised with a host of awards for the company, and has helped to drive the whole telecom’s market to seek faster, more reliable and more expansive mobile coverage.
So well done to Smart on retaining their title, and we look forward to seeing what 2019 will see from Smart and Cambodia’s other telecoms providers!
