Retrospective: BarCamp Ratanakiri 2016

With its theme “Technology and Tourism”, BarCamp Ratanakiri explored the themes of education, tourism, technology and entrepreneurship.

Held at the ASEAN Bridge International School on April 30 to May 1, BarCamp Ratanakiri hosted about 350 participants, 14 speakers, and a range of 20 topics presented.

The most popular events were mainly centered on entrepreneurship, social media and the Internet. Prepare Yourself Ready for Study & Work by Ms Ros Sreypov had 76 participants, Mobile Photography by Mao Chandy saw 70 attendees and Young Entrepreneur’s Tip by Mr Meng Edeth had 59 participants. Other popular talks include Understanding Online Documents (Share and Keep Documents Online) by Mr San Sopheak, The Benefits of Using Social Media by Eng Vannak, and Digital Strategy and Google Map for Tourism Business by Mr Be Chantra and Mr Heng Sovann.

BarCamp Ratanakiri also featured booths from well-known Cambodian companies such as Cellcard, Sabay Digital Corporation and Getinside360.

Apart from all the tech and entrepreneurship highlights, the event also held a tree planting activity where 100 trees were planted.
