With the rise of a technologically savvy nation hungry to gain more knowledge, Barcamps are becoming increasingly popular in Cambodia. In case you aren’t familiar with the term yet, barcamps are simply events where likeminded people get together to share and learn anything and everything in an unrestricted environment.
In this Kampot edition, a total of 392 participants registered for this educational event. Held over a period of 1 and a half days, 47 topics pertaining to Careers, Entrepreneurships, Design and Innovation, and Internet & Technology kept the masses engaged in discussions with 27 speakers.

At the opening ceremony, over 250 participants gathered together to welcome the start of the Barcamp.
During the event, the topic that generated the most buzz was “How to Sell Yourself Effectively” by Mrs So Marina from Development Innovations. 86 participants attended the talk and engaged in discussions.
“The Benefit of using Internet” by speaker Mr. Tep Kenvannkorn from Glean from was also a hot topic, with 49 attendees eager to learn more about how useful the Internet can be.
Ms Sok En from HEDC International drew in 47 people for her topic “Mind Map”.
By encouraging people to engage in open discussions, the event generated lots of ideas and talks amongst the people. 102 participants attended the “Social Networking Night”. Volunteers at the event also helped to ensure that everything went along smoothly.
