Google I/O is an annual developer-focused conference held by Google in San Francisco or California. Google I/O features highly technical, in-depth sessions focused on building web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and open web technologies such as Android, Chrome, Chrome OS, Google APIs, Google Web Toolkit, App Engine, and more. Google I/O was officially launched in 2008 with the “I” and “O” stand for Input/Output, and “Innovation in the Open”. The format of the event is similar to that of the Google Developer Day. This year’s conference Google I/O 2014 was hosted in San Francisco from 25-26 June 2014.

11:00PM – 12:30AM: Finally it was time for what we are waiting for. Everyone got together for the countdown to the last minute of Live streaming Keynote from Google I/O Conference in San Francisco. During the streaming of the live conference, the organizers’ whipped out even more BBQ chicken for the special occasion, which was a good move since everyone had fun enjoying their chicken while watching the stellar live event, that’s why Food and Technology can connect together on a social level!
The opening keynote presentation really demonstrated Google’s ambition to take its mobile OS everywhere; from your car, to your body, to your television, and even into your workplace. We saw a preview of Android L,which was released with a fresh new design. Material design as Google calls it, adds some new depth features, support for 64 bit resolution, and an enhanced notifications system that will help people interact with their applications in powerful ways without ever launching the app itself.
The keynote also featured Android Wear that will support various screen configurations, be it circular or square in nature. We saw this action on the LG G smartwatch, which featured an always on display that supports notifications via vibrations as well as voice command capabilities. An inbuilt touchscreen display lets users swipe vertically across it to see notifications from various apps. Users can even set voice notifications that automatically sync to their phones!
Google is also coming to your TV with Android TV. Just imagine your TV like it were another Android screen. The interface is extremely sleek and has a very simple UI that reacts to your usage patterns. The key behind this innovation is to keep the Android TV experience seamless across devices. Better yet, you can use your Android Wear watch to navigate the options on your TV, which mirror the options on your tablet. To top it all off, Android TV includes full Google Chromecast support meaning you can go to someone else’s house still stream your videos and music from there.
There are many more remarkable innovations that were covered during the keynote of course but we’ve covered most of the bigger announcements in this article.
To conclude, Google I/O Extended Phnom Penh was a smashing success that brought an enlightening experience to everyone in attendance with the amazing live streaming of Google I/O Conference as well as a presentation from local speakers. The aim of Google I/O Extended Phnom Penh was always to bring more fun to everyone. From the scrumptious networking dinner to the fun-filled lucky draw, the event gave everyone a chance to meet with new people who have share the love of technology and innovation.
