Impact Hub, HEKS Cambodia and the Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) Cambodia are encouraging startups impacting the agricultural sector to apply for the DakDam Incubator until 16 August!
Have an environmentally friendly prototype/service
Be beneficial for small-hold farmers, especially women
Consist of Cambodians with little to no experience of starting and growing businesses
Have at least 2 co-founders that have the skills and technical ability to execute their idea
Be based in Cambodia
The timeline of the programme:
31 August to 1 Sep: Eight to ten businesses will be selected for the Innovation Bootcamp to learn about business fundamentals
1 Sep to 2 Oct: Mentoring and Pitch Training
3 Oct (Demo Day): Four to six businesses will proceed to the Incubation Phase and receive up to $7500 in funding
Oct – April 2020: Incubation Phase
May 2020: Business and Product Showcase: Investors, strategic partners and the public will be invited to the showcase in order to increase awareness of the businesses
During the Incubation Phase, successful applicants will gain knowledge through business workshops, personal mentorship and customised coaching from experts, as well as opportunities to strike partnerships with Impact Hub’s national and international contacts. They will also need to do regular field trips to test the feasibility of their business models in real life.
As such, team members must be able to:
Have an internet connection for the workshops and online mentoring sessions
Travel to Phnom Penh for milestone events (expenses covered)
Travel out of Phnom Penh for field trips to test the prototype and business model
Work on the startup for 12h/week for seven months
Complete surveys during the programme and the next two years for monitoring and evaluation
