Microsoft and LaLiga Competition for Cambodian Startups Searching for Disruptive Tech for Sports and Entertainment
Cambodian startups involved in disruptive technology in sports and entertainment have until March 30 to apply for global The Original Inspiration Centre 2019 competition.
Microsoft’s Global Sport Innovation Centre and LaLiga, the top division in Spanish men’s football, have teamed up to help startups break into the sports and entertainment industry globally, and assist LaLiga’s digitalisation efforts.
The solutions presented by the applicants must fall within the following four categories:
Media: Broadcasting, social media, digital content, new media, digital marketing, second screens, graphics, analysis, piracy
Fan engagement: fan profiles, social media, electronic sports, gamification, social listening, community, commercialisation, VR/AR/MR, digital games
Smart venues: security, fan engagement, ticket sales, fan experience, food and beverages, connectivity, cashless payments, access control and guest management
Sports Performance: analysis, sports training materials, injury prevention, health and lifestyle, research
Other innovations such as big data, AI and machine learning are also accepted
Twenty-five selected startups will present their ideas to representatives from LaLiga, GSIC and Microsoft on May, with 10 finalists selected to discuss their pilots with LaLiga. Finally, from September to December 2019, the finalists will enter an acceleration programme and begin to develop their pilots.
Finalists will enjoy benefits such as mentorship by LaLiga executives, access to a 200-strong network of other companies through 6 months of free GSIC membership and digital transformation certification.
