Learning about conversational commerce with Facebook Business Chats

Small and medium-sized businesses are adapting to a new world of social distancing and rapid digitization of the economy and services to succeed in the face of challenges presented by the global coronavirus pandemic.

As part of its effort to support small businesses in Cambodia and support entrepreneurs in moving online and achieving success on its platform, Facebook has launched a new educational series “Business Chats with Facebook.”

The series kicked off with a live online event where Cambodian social media specialists, business owners and a Facebook representative Charlotte Trudgill, leader of Facebook business operations in Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos, Vichet In, CEO and co-founder of Mediaload and Little digital and Sopanha Hem, Country head of Httpool Cambodia, answered questions about conversational and social commerce, giving tips and recommendations to interested entrepreneurs.

“More and more Facebook users around Southeast Asia are turning towards conversational commerce, searching for a way to sell their products that is interactive, personalized and quick. Conversational commerce is taking the best from both physical and online shopping and changing the way we shop,” said Charlotte Trudgill.

During the webinar, the speakers focused on the benefits conversational commerce brings, the diversity of solutions that enable businesses and people to connect, improving their shopping experience and meeting customer expectations.

“As Facebook Authorized Sales Partner in Cambodia, we are always excited to participate in events such as this one. Talking to local advertisers and understanding their struggles allows us to offer them support exactly where they need it and when they need it. We will make sure to continue educating advertisers in Cambodia on how to leverage Facebook family of apps to make the most of their efforts and support their businesses.”, said Sopanha Hem.

“Since I started using conversational commerce and selling items through Messenger, my sales have more than doubled. My customers feel very comfortable using this service and I am looking forward to seeing what more features will be available for us in the future,” said Vichet In.

The latest online talk can be accessed at Geeks in Cambodia Facebook Page. In the upcoming episodes, social media experts and Facebook representatives will chat and answer questions about different aspects of doing business on Facebook including managing ads on Facebook, running a Facebook life or influencer marketing.
