The Cambodian government has signalled its growing support of Cambodia’s startup and entrepreneur ecosystem with the recent launch of the Techo Startup Centre at the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
The newly launched Techo Startup Centre
With the aim of aiding the government in diversifying Cambodia’s economy and adapting to new technological trends, the Startup Centre will promote crucial skills needed for students to thrive in the startup world and help young talents to scale their tech startups into successful businesses.
Through mentorship, technical assistance and access to a strong network, Techo Startup Centre will guide startups at any stage along the scaling process:
Incubation: Transforming innovative ideas into business models
Acceleration: Gearing business models to develop Minimum Viable Products (MVP)
Research & Development: Discovering innovation sources to accelerate MVPs
“The new Techo Startup Centre is a place where students will be able to carry out internships, do research and have access to mentors. It will connect universities to the labour market and the private sector,” said H.E. Dr Aun Pornmoniroth, Minister of Economy and Finance and Honorary Chairman.
