KhmerCoders Convention Back For the Second Time Round

The KhmerCoders Convention is back for its second run! This free-of-charge event will be happening this Saturday, 9 September at Zaman University from 1.30pm to 5pm. During this huge gathering of Cambodian programmers, attendees from all walks of life will get the opportunity to not only network with other passionate individuals from similar industries, but also learn a thing or two from each other.

Aside from networking, this convention will also feature a series of talks from 5 different programming professionals. These speakers will be imparting invaluable information and knowledge, geared towards their various areas of expertise, for the benefit of those who are attending.

Here’s a peek of the exciting line-up of speakers and topics for the event:

  • “Overview of Speech to Speech Translation” by Kak Soky, Research Coordinator at Research and Innovation Center of National Institute of Posts, Telecoms & ICT

  • “Introduction to Continuous Integration” by Mike Gaertner, Chief Operating Officer of Sabay Digital Corporation, a digital entertainment provider

  • “Application Security” by Ly Vandy, Deputy Manager of Cyber Security at Deloitte (Cambodia)

  • “Frontend Web Development with Functional Language, Elm” by Rinne Seven, a Freelance Web Developer

  • “Build Simple Yet Powerful API for Your Product” by Ly Channa, Chief Technology Officer of BookMeBus, a mobile application used to book bus tickets in Cambodia, that made it to the finals of the Mekong Innovative Startup Tourism (MIST) accelerator program

With a wide array of relatable topics from top-notch speakers, those who have a great passion in programming will definitely have a lot to learn from this convention– which is not far off from the first convention held on 1 July earlier this year!

The past convention proved to be an extremely successful one, garnering much interest and ultimately a large number of attendees for the event. Expert speakers like Mike Gaertner, Soun Pisey, Vitou Phy and Heng Kimchheang were also present to talk about interesting and relatable topics too; ranging from production, optimization and even robotics. Seeing its success and interest for their first ever conference, it’s no wonder they are having a second convention following up the first so fast!

So if you’re an enthusiastic or aspiring programmer and want to learn more, make sure not to miss this fulfilling afternoon of learning and networking coming up very soon!
