Cambodian cashless payment providers Pi Pay and the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MPWT) have entered into a partnership which allows Pi Pay users to pay for public transportation, vehicle registration and a number of other services from the ministry through their mobile phones via the Pi Pay app.
13th June, Wednesday – A MOU between Impact Hub Phnom Penh and Grab was signed in collaboration to support the ever-growing startup ecosystem in Cambodia.
After a long and challenging 3-month journey, five teams taking part in the second cycle of the SmartStart: Young Innovator programme were selected to transform their tech ideas and business models into reality with the aid of US$4,000 and six months of incubator support from Impact Hub and Smart Axiata.
More than 200 invited guests participated in Cambodia’s second ICT Tech Startup and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Forum on May 7, as the importance of SMEs across ASEAN continues to drive job creation and technology development across the region.
On the 28 – 29 of April, The SmartStart Hackathon 2018 took place on April 28-29 at The Factory, Phnom Penh’s newest co-working space, hosting 120 students in 30 tech startup teams who received training and coaching before the main pitching session on the final evening.
