On the 28 – 29 of April, The SmartStart Hackathon 2018 took place on April 28-29 at The Factory, Phnom Penh’s newest co-working space, hosting 120 students in 30 tech startup teams who received training and coaching before the main pitching session on the final evening.
Cambodia’s startup ecosystem has been growing a tremendous pace, with recent initiatives like Cambodia ICT Awards (CICTA), TOP100 APAC Cambodia Qualifiers and SmartStart Cycle 2, showcasing both the great talent being developed in Cambodia, and the regional interest.

The National Institute of Posts, Telecoms & ICT will be organizing a course for free on Drone Building right here in Phnom Penh!
They will teach students how to build a drone and they will learn the software and the hardware behind it. The course will take 20-30 hours to complete in total. However, students will only have 3-6 hours per week in the afternoon once the course commences. The course will be free, but shortlisted students are expected to buy their own drone material (hardware) in order to practice.
