It has been a long journey for the 15 SmartStart teams as they prepare to compete for Smart Axiata’s 2018 top prize. In the final push before the June 9 final pitch event, 60 participants learnt the fundamentals of a tech business at the SmartStart Technopreneur Camp in Battambang City.

With waste management, pollution, deforestation and animal welfare being an increasingly prevalent issues in Cambodia, 30 young people spent the past three months going through intensive training to develop a high impact business that aims to solve some of Cambodia’s most pressing environmental issues.
(English) The May 29 launch of Book Angkor Tuk Tuk, a platform that allows customers to book tuk tuk packages when visiting Cambodia’s world-famous Angkor Archaeological Park, will see the gathering of key players to discuss the topic of “Sustainability, Technology and the Future of Cambodia’s Tourism Industry”.
At a recent digital transformation workshop focused on the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Cloud Computing, the audience of government ministries, banks, MFIs, telecommunication operators, NGOs, business startups and students heard from 15 distinguished guest speakers on Cambodia’s place in the digital era.
