On Thursday 22 September, Happy Hour Talk: Tech For Education will take place at Impact Hub Phnom Penh (IHPP) from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
Hosted by IHPP, the talk, which comprises two sessions, will attempt to tackle some key issues regarding education technology (EdTech) in Cambodia. This includes reviewing existing practices of how technology is being integrated into the classroom and taking a look at the latest trends and approaches used to teach in a digital age. The sessions will also look at how some innovative projects are incorporating ICT to enhance the learning of the students.
The first session, “Minecraft Integration: Gaming For The Classroom”, is where Matt Dolmot, a Primary Years Technology Coach at the International School of Phnom Penh will talk about how games can be better integrated into the school curriculum.
The second session, which is a student presentation by the Liger Learning Centre, will talk about “Bitcoin” and a digital currency project that is being run by the centre.
These talks come at a time when the EdTech trend is on the rise. Education experts believe that EdTech will enjoy the most growth in Asia which makes this talk extremely relevant.
