It has been brought to our attention that the number of people experiencing Smartphones robbery had increased in Phnom Penh. If your smartphone is actually an iPhone, there might be a way to track it down when robbed or lost.
Indeed, Apple provides an app called Find my Iphone featuring a remote location-tracking of iOS devices. Formerly available on the App store since 2010, the app is now pre-installed on every iPhone.
How to use Find my iPhone ?
Step 1: Download and install the app: Check if you already have the app on your iPhone. If you don’t, go to the AppStore and install it. A valid iCloud account is required to set the app.
Step 2: Activate the app: Once installed, go to your Settings and enter iCloud options. Then toggle Find my Phone and accept the conditions.
Step 3: Locate your lost iPhone: Once lost, log in to your iCloud account via the Web (https://www.icloud.com/) or another iOS device. Do not forget that you won’t be able to locate the device if you didn’t activate the Find My Phone before losing your phone.
If your device is online, it locks and tracks it. If your device is offline, it locks it and the tracking take effect the next time it’s online.
We hope this tutorial can help, although don’t forget that this feature can work only if your iCloud account is already set, and if the option is activated in your settings. Also keep in mind that some hacks already exist to block this tracking…
