Geeks on a Beach: A Sandy Summit of Tech, Startup and Design

Sink your feet into the crashing waves and indulge in the sea breeze as you join the fourth Geeks on a Beach (GOAB) conference in the Philippines.

An international tech summit, Geeks on a Beach is a congregation of geeks and rounds of great conversation and ideas. Expect discussions, a pitching competition, exhibitions and a party in one of Philippines’ beautiful beaches.

Similar to last year’s Geeks on a Beach, the conference will feature industry professionals and experts from the tech sector. From venture capitalists to developers, some of the big name venture capitalists include Dave McClure, Khailee Ng from 500 Startups, Kuo-Yi Lim from Monk’s Hill Ventures, and Golden Gate Ventures’ Justin Hall. Other key guest speakers such as Jojo Flores, Paolo Azzola and Earl Valencia will be present at the dialogue as well.

Held at Panglao Island, Philippines, on August 25 and 26, Geeks on a Beach will enlighten attendees with its talks, panels and breakout sessions from leaders of the tech, startup and design world. With topics ranging from mobile app and game development to business strategy, breakout sessions will allow participants to attend discussions that pique their interest the most.

The spotlight will be shone on early stage tech startups as they join the GOAB International Startup Pitching Competition. With the opportunity of added traction and investments, all participating startup founders will pitch to an audience of global professionals and investors on the GOAB stage.

As the sun sets, all investors will indulge in the Investors Roundtable Dinner. Made for investors by investors, this dinner serves all its special diners tips on investing in Southeast Asian startups. Exhibition booths and Geek Alley Exhibition will pepper the convention hall with businesses and startups. Don’t miss Office Hours, a one on one flash consultation meeting where you have your most pressing questions answered, and Lunch with a Speaker, where you dine with speakers for a more personal interaction.

Additionally, the sun, sand and sea event gives endless opportunities for networking. From global startup founders, developers and designers, GOAB creates a space for likeminded individuals to share ideas and collaborate.

Through its exciting lineup, GOAB promises a venue for the world’s best minds to share their insights with local and international participants. Apart from showcasing the talent and opportunities available in Philippines’ tech, gaming and startup sectors, the event also aims to promote IT careers and tech entrepreneurship.
