Want to know how ICT is being used to help Agriculture? There will be a learning event on Friday, 3rd of October 2014 from 3:30pm – 5:00pm at Development Innovations.
In collaboration with agriculture NGO Cambodian Institute for Research and Rural Development (CIRD), InSTEDD iLab Southeast Asia (iLab SEA) conducts field tests as well as designed voice messages for farmers. This is to deliver crucial information to farmers and getting them to adopt the use of fragrant rice seed for high yields. In Cambodia’s most rural areas, people like farmers do not have access to Internet.
The project targets 8 provinces, and Cambodian farmers there can call the Verboice number to gain knowledge about fragrant rice seed.

It is interactive, free of charge and accessible 24/7. Farmers can even leave questions for CIRD to respond through radio broadcast. The project is supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank. Find out more here.
The event at Development Innovations will see Tharum Bun, a Communications Lead at iLab SEA. There, he handles communications, media development, public relations, and events.
