Around one month ago, Facebook introduced “Home”, an app “that puts your friends at the heart of your phone” available from Google Play store on Android devices (such as HTC First, Samsung Galaxy 4 and Sony XPeria ZL).
The aim of this new interface is to provide a more “user friendly” experience of Facebook from a mobile platform.
Meaning that you get a straight overview of what you’re friends are sharing, with informations browsed and features accessed in an easier way.
A very good feedback we got from Facebook Home users, is the ability to keep chatting meanwhile using other applications, allowing to remain connected to Facebook (almost) all the time while using your phone.
Although, many users also complain about numerous bugs, and many ones are not convinced neither seduced by this new app.
Adam Mosseri, product director at Facebook, said the number of downloads wasn’t the most important, as the social network was focusing so far on feedbacks and improvements to make.
Nevertheless, Facebook also revealed that people currently using Home are therefore using Facebook longer and more often. Furthermore, time spent on news feed would also have grown by 25% thanks to the app, and more messages would have been exchanged as well.
The social network will keep going with new upcoming features, as they revealed some more widgets would be released soon.
