An organisation is giving women in Cambodia a chance to revolutionise the world.
Designed by WeCreate Cambodia, Startup Academy aims to empower women to build a company. They offer mentoring from experienced industry players and donated legal services so that your company can be created properly. Furthermore, Startup Academy will be offering its entrepreneurs access to a large base of entrepreneurs, funding sources and experts in the startup process.
If you’re a woman and you have a business idea you’d love to materialise, this could be a great head start for you.
Each session a week is three hours long and is led by local entrepreneurs and business leaders who will be sharing their knowledge and skillsets. By the end of the program, you would have a business or prototype that is ready to enter the market.
The startup program has only 15 to 18 slots for interested entrepreneurs, and is based on applications. A panel of seasoned entrepreneurs and mentors will be reviewing the applications and successful applicants will undergo a 15-minute interview.
Ideas submitted can range from agriculture and textiles to home businesses and technological advances, as long as it can be made into a sustainable business.
Criteria that the applications will be judged on includes the practicality of the team or individual’s idea, the market opportunity, and if a prototype can be created within 4 to 15 weeks.
Any woman with a business idea or has been in a business for a year can apply. No business plan is needed and more than one application can be submitted.
Applications have been open since March 5 and will close on March 31.
