With tons of mobile events popping up, such as today’s round of Mobile Monday, it is time to go back to exploring basic mobile data collection and analysis. Armed with tools and refreshments, Development Innovations will be hosting a session on this rapidly growing genre of data this Thursday at their office.
The event will be conducted by ICT Manager of Plan International Cambodia, Chan Choth Puth, where he will give a talk and introduce the various tools employed in the after-process of data. He will be defining practical examples of collections and analysis, and helping participants to understand the prominent use of the Open Data Kit in this field. The tool is highly scalable in the developing countries starting from system process diagram, mobile/computer data collection and data analysis.
Other than the tools, participants will also be involved in the future phases of Plan International’s work. The organization primarily helps development projects and CSOs utilize information content technology to improve the impact and scale of their work. As a whole, Plan is an international humanitarian child-centered community development organization, and one of the oldest and largest international development agencies in the world working in 69 countries.
Holding more than a decade in the ICT field, Chan Choth Puth is no stranger to developing tools for data. His roll of achievements incudes a certificate in leadership and management from Plan in collaboration with Harvard (UK) in 2010, Excellency award in Open Source Software Solution Integration course in Japan in 2004 and a bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Royal Phnom Penh University in 2001.
Exploring Mobile Data Collection And Analysis with Chan Choth Puth is free and will take place from 3.30pm to 5pm, 10 July 2014, at the Development Innovations office. You can RSVP your attendance here!
