Remember EmTech 2015, Asia’s most exciting conference on emerging technologies? Well, Emtech is returning for another round of its dynamic event in 2016, along with MIT Technology Review’s regional “Innovators Under 35” competition.
MIT Technology Review has been recognizing and commending young innovators who come up with the most impressive inventions and research since 1999. Its regional list consists of technologists and scientists under 35 years old, including those from the biomedicine, computing, communications, energy, materials, internet, and transportation sectors.
Only 10 innovators will make it through to Emtech’s event in 2016, where they will get the opportunity to present a three minute elevator pitch in front of a live panel. Other than that, they will also become finalists for the global 35 Innovators under 35 list.
These 10 innovators can come from or be based in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Australia, and New Zealand. Only those with an exceptional technical idea that is promising enough to make a change globally will be selected to be a part of this prestigious list. Past innovators of the TR35 include Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Danah Boyd from Microsoft, Sergey Brin from Google, and many more brilliant innovators.

So, who should be a part of the TR35 list? If the person has an outstanding idea and have already built a project pertaining to technological innovation and applied research, then he should definitely be nominated. Applicants from every field of research are also permitted to enter this nomination.
