Tech in Asia is back for its ninth edition of its signature 2-day conference, one of Asia’s biggest conferences arranged for entrepreneurs, investors, the media, as well as people in the technology and startup industry across Asia.
This time round, the conference will be held in Singapore on the 6 and 7 May at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. After successful conferences in Singapore, Tokyo, and Jakarta last year, with a record-breaking 2202 participants in Jakarta, Tech in Asia promises to be bigger, better, and crazier this year.
More than 2500 international attendees are expected at the event, with well-known initiatives like Speed Dating, Arena, and recent ones like Investor Lounge and Night Crawl.
Since the first conference in 2012, the number of attendees has been growing considerably – from 870 delegates to 1,498 in 2014. The number of product-ready startups that are exhibited have also increased, from 70 in 2012 to 100 in 2014.
With many startups trying to secure investors, media, and corporates, The Bootstrap Alley has always been a crowd favorite at Tech in Asia conferences. This year, over 250 startups are expected to be exhibited, more than two times the number in the Jakarta edition. Additionally, one can also showcase their startup at a booth for free, but only for one day. It’s still not to late to sign up for one, so click here if you’re interested!
The Alley will also highlight 10 startup winners from the new month-long Tech in Asia Tour that recently took place in March all across 10 Asian countries. These winners have been granted with free flights, accommodation, startup passes, as well as their very own booths at Bootstrap Alley.
As part of the conference, a new component called Night Crawl, which will showcase open and closed-door parties, will allow attendees the chance to continue networking with others after dark, from 6pm till midnight on both conference days.
Additionally, investors can also use the new Investor Lounge space as a safe haven from the busy crowd at the conference, or to have private talks with other startup companies.
Startups who are competing in the Arena this year, one of the main focuses of the conference, are in for a big treat: the cash prize has increased to a whopping US$15,000!
Other highlights of the conference include internationally acclaimed speakers at the Main Stage and Kickstart Stage. Some of these speakers include Ray Chan from 9Gag and Anthony Tan from GrabTaxi.
Furthermore, at the Startup Investor Speed Dating and Office Hours, one can speak face-to-face with investors and top-tech firms. For international media coverage, one can head on down to the “Meet The Media” segment at the conference.
