Be one of the lucky 11 to represent Cambodia in Startup Weekend ASEAN

Do you think you have what it takes to represent Cambodia in the first ever Startup Weekend ASEAN? Organised by the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), only 11 participants from each ASEAN country will be selected to participate in the 54 hour crash course to be a part of the world’s largest entrepreneurial community.

Selected participants will be invited to an all expense paid trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to take part in the event from the 4th to 6th August this year.

At Startup Weekend, one simply has to come inspired with an idea, form a team, solidify your plan, and then pitch your startup to a group of investors towards the end. All of this happens in less than 54 hours! Check out the video below to understand more about the concept behind SW!

Startup Weekend ASEAN is not any different! A total of 110 budding entrepreneurs aged between 18 – 30 years old will be shortlisted from Southeast Asia to take part in this event. These lucky chosen ones can expect to be provided with entrepreneurship training during the 54 hour course. They will also develop online apps that can assist in allowing the ASEAN community to further advance and progress.

The winning team that comes up with the best solutions will be awarded a free trip to the United States of America, where they will get to meet American entrepreneurs, business and technology incubators, as well as leading companies. And if you come in second or third place, fret not, for these teams will receive funding in terms of seed money, in order to bring their ideas to life.

Additionally, every single team will be provided with long-term mentoring and coaching, so this is definitely a great opportunity for exposure and learning!

In terms of housekeeping, one does not need to worry, as training, transportation, food, as well as accommodation, will all be provided at no cost!

If you are interested in participating in Startup Weekend ASEAN, simply apply to become a YSEALI member and then, upload a one minute pitch video on YouTube explaining your idea that will assist Southeast Asia in growing in terms of economic development, civic engagement, as well as the environment and education sectors.
